CDB Is Training More Than 30 Turks and Caicos Business Owners and Staff

In the Turks and Caicos Islands, more than 30 business owners, managers and employees are spending this fall on 3 skills: marketing online, managing their money and keeping their businesses running through disruption. The Caribbean Development Bank announced on October 9 that it’s partnering with Invest Turks and Caicos on the support. It runs from September 1 to November 30.

The work is delivered through CDB|PROPEL, the bank’s flagship technical assistance programme for micro, small and medium-sized businesses, and its Private Sector Division. CDB describes the package as both technical and financial support. It covers digital and social media marketing, business continuity planning, and financial literacy and management.

The participants come from tourism, transportation, agriculture and the creative sectors. Each one starts with training workshops, then gets one-on-one technical assistance to apply what they’ve learned to their own operations.

Michel Thomas, a Senior Operations Officer in CDB’s Private Sector Division, said the focus reflects the bank’s commitment to building the managerial and operational capacity of businesses in the islands. “The initiative aims to build resilience, expand access to finance, improve competitiveness, and create opportunities for increased revenue,” he said.

Angela Musgrove, CEO of Invest Turks and Caicos, said the partnership gives business owners practical tools to reach customers, strengthen their financial decisions and grow. “We recognise that financial literacy, digital marketing, and business continuity planning are essential to building strong, sustainable businesses,” she said.

The programme runs through November 30.
